Painting a car properly, especially with a colour change, is expensive to do right. There's significant disassembly and masking in addition to the regular prep. The cost can easily run to $4-5,000.

it would be alot easier to just call a few body shops around where you live. paint jobs have a very wide range of prices depending on the quality of paint they use and the person doing it.
Definitely a big mistake to paint a car that new.
