Some characteristics that I would like to have would be the following:
Range
Distance
How long the CO2 lasts (CO2 Efficiency)What are some good paint ball guns that are not over $100 in price?
This is a tough one. I don't know what you mean by range/distance - they mean the same thing to me. The only way that one paintball gun shoots farther than another is if you either dial up the velocity adjustment (not a good idea) or have a Flatline or Apex barrel. If a 2008 Ego and a Tippmann both have the ball exiting the barrel at 280 feet per second, they both shoot the same distance, period.
As of this writing you should be able to find current Spyders (Sonix and Victor) for under $100 for the gun only. They have a nice finish, delrin bolt, and are a tried and true design. Spyder knockoffs might be cheaper. Check actionvillage.com for closeout deals as well.
Buy a 20oz CO2 bottle and you can probably play all day with most low-end guns.
I think your best bet is to go check out what your local paintball store has - Big Box or online stores aren't going to have the same customer service. You might be surprised by what you find there! What are some good paint ball guns that are not over $100 in price?
