sounds a little on the high range. is the car worth that much ??? maybe you should find two different places.
If you get a drink from an office store (staples or office depot) you pay $3 for the drink. go to a supermarket and get a whole case for $3.
try and get a quote from a body shop just for the dents and dings. dont go to the paint shop for dent repair. they usually charge a lot more then a normal place.

It hard to say, I just spent $1300 on my 81 GMC step side. At times I wish I had spent more money for a better paint job, but who's to say that I would have gotten a better one. So you will have to do your home work and look around an check a few difference places out to fine the best painting shop. It about how much you like your truck and how long your are planing to keep it. Good Luck '; Some places wanted well over $3000 too much money. An I love my truck.

I'm thinking about giving my HHR a two-tone paint job going with a hot-rod look. It has a nice line around the middle of the car which would be a great place to split the colors. I'm thinking red on the top and black on the bottom. Also price it competitively with the prices of other people's work of a similar type and standard.
I know a lady who spent hundreds of dollars on each painting for the materials, but her ability was poor so the paintings themselves were not appealling enough to even make back those costs. So this is a case in which the paintings didn't rate even the cost of materials. It isn't necessary to use the best materials anyway. All that really matters is that they are durable and look okay. I only got charged $800.00 because I kind of new the guy. I live in Northern Virginia, and the price in this area may not be the same as perhaps where you live.
As a general rule of thumb, painting consists of preperation, and making things look good prior to applying any paint, I.E. filling any holes, dents depressions, cracks and so on, applying caulk to gaps around window, door trims and baseboards.
If your house/home is in good order there will be less time spent upon preperation, and this in turn will be reflected withing the price you actually pay.
Here is a rough guide of what I charge in this area.
Lets take a room that is 12x 15 feet, has one door and three windows.
I would paint the celing using two coats of paint, I would paint the window trims and baseboards, again applying two coats of paint, the door and door trims would also receive two coats of paint, or until the door looked even all over.
The walls are a different color to the trims and ceiling and generally require at least two coats of paint.
I would charge my customer about $750 for that room.
If I had to take several hours to make good holes dents etc in drywall, I would charge extra.
Generally most houses have gaps around trims and baseboards, and to fill those gaps does not take very long, so things like that would be within the $750 range for that size room.
If the customer wants me to remove all of their furniture, and take down curtains and blinds etc and then put them back afterwards, I would add about another $100 to that price.
Sounds mean but time is money, some customers have so much furniture in a room, you have to go outside just to change your mind.
If you have any walls that are wood panels, I would charge a bit more, because they take longer to paint and prime, than a regular drywall.
If you currently have dark colors upon the walls and wish to go lighter, once again they would need to be primed first, and this would add about another $100 to the ball park figure of $750

Also, I would recommend that you color coat the stucco, not paint it. What is a fair price for painting a townhouse interior?
We are supplying the paint, and the townhouse will be empty...just need a painter to do the work. About 1500 sq.ft, also ceilings, inside all cupboards, and also our kitchen cupboard doors. We will be using fairly light colours (such as taupe or biege). What are some decent priced brands that will give good coverage while still covering a fair amount of square footage?

I normaly point out to people who want colour changes that it would be cheaper to buy a car that is the colour of their choice.

If you have the ability to prep it for paint it's not so bad in cost, but the paint is low quality, I made them fix quite a few spots that they had orange peel on and crud in the paint (and of course they fought me tooth %26amp; nail on fixing it as well) Bottom line: If you do all the prep yourself and get it smooth as can be (black shows every defect do a good job) They may be able to put a good layer of paint on it (no promises, you may have to make them fix it like I did) Also heard of another guy who went there once as well but with his classic, and at the last minute found a tiny little speck he should have sanded out... He didn't have any way to sand it out right then (probably would have taken a minute at most) so he slipped the worker a twenty and asked him to give that spot a quick once over before shooting it... The guy took his money and promised to take care of it... never happened, he was pissed. I really recommend going somewhere else reputable unless you are not looking for perfection and you just want the car to look a little better on a tight budget.

Fisher Price is recalling over a million toys painted with Lead Base paint. The toys were made in China.... Does Fisher Price, a most trusted name in toys, have no control over quality control...... ? It seems like they could have saved alot of grief just by checking on the paint ....WHY WOULD FISHER PRICE paint all those toys with lead base paint in the first place???

he's a 4 year old red dun overo gelding. bloodlines include, peppy san bar, dell mingo, poco bueno, Johnny Tivio and the artist. he's taken out supreme paint in every show he's ever been to (was shown by his trainer and not me) he won at camp drafting and barrel racing at state shows.
he's 15hh, very quiet, gets sold with ord river barrel racing stock saddle and Eureka rugs and hoods. he's also been placed in hacking. he's in show condition and gets sold with entry into this years state show camp drafting champs all payed for.

I have the feeling that you don't show on the extended circuit. I hate to sound prejudiced but a nice horse like this shouldn't be wasted barrel racing unless your are to the level where you are competing for money and actual national points etc. But if this were the case you wouldn't be asking what price to ask and you wouldn't be inluding your tack in the price.

For stove paint, there is a great site http://www.cjshomedecor.com/acatalog/copy_of_Stove_Bright_Stove_Paint.html - it's about $18.90 a can. That is where I bought my paint. It works great. For your fridge, I have done this several times, it came out great. Buy a good quality degreaser from an auto parts store - 3M makes a great one! After cleaning it, take Scotch Brite to it, and scuff it up until it is very dull. Then use PlastiKote Epoxy spray paint in whatever color you want. Use wet coats, but let them dry slightly before applying the next coat - you will be amazed! Let me know if this helps you out....Where could i buy paint for a stove and refrigerator at a low price.?

You can get spray paint at Dollar General and Wal-Mart of $1.00 a can. This is the cheapest that you will find. If you are painting something that will stay inside, I would not worry about it wearing off. If it is something that will be exposed to the weather, then you want to pay more for a heavier grade paint. I like silver as an accent color. Definitely crack a window if spraying inside and be super careful of overspray. You can also get a trigger that will snap into the top of the can of paint. It will help you spray more evenly without your hand getting tired.
Make sure what you do can be easily redone. You may decide to change the looks. A wildcat on paper or some such thing hung on the wall would be nice. Perhaps if the room is done in a very pale blue and silver then the cat can be done in darker shades of the same colors. Blending in quite well. I think it's too low. A very low price can do two things: either provoke a purchase because it's too good to pass up, or stall the purchase because the low price devalues the item and then nobody wants it.
In your case, it's the second one.
Try raising your prices to at least $50 and see if they don't command more respect. You paint very well -- commodities like wood and sugar are sold on price, but this is art. Don't commodify what you do.

It's a false economy to buy cheaper paint. It can take longer to apply, require more coats and will need doing again much sooner. Although no paint makes up for any lack of preparation.

If you want some funky colors, as well as standard colors, when you go to the paint desk, ask them for their OOPS PAINT! These are paints that once they were mixed, the person didn't like what came out. They usually have a sample of the color on the can top. You can save a ton of money. If you want some funky colors, as well as standard colors, when you go to the paint desk, ask them for their OOPS PAINT! These are paints that once they were mixed, the person didn't like what came out. They usually have a sample of the color on the can top. You can save a ton of money. Roughly how much do professional painters on the northside of chicago charge per square foot? I have two bedrooms that will need painting in a month 13x10 and 15x10 (approx 9' ceilings). That's an easy enough job to do yourself. Use wide blue painters tape on the base, and ceiling and window areas and paint reasonably carefully. I always us a pole attachment on a roller because it's easier to do with 2 hands and you can reach further up the wall. It would take you a couple of days per room and save yourself hundreds of dollars.
Ask at Home Depot or Lowe's. They may be able to give you an estimate. Or ask among your friends. Someone may have had painting done recently. In fact, it is always safe to hire someone who has a good reputation. You can also do it yourself. I am an eternal painter. Since my labor comes ';cheap'; I can afford to paint often.Can you help set up this

i own a repair ,and restoration shop,in Tennessee,and i can tell you its not cheap to have done,,paint has gone up so much in the past year that it is ridiculous what good paint cost now,an average paint job starts about 800-1000 bucks,and that's just for an average job,and your wanting custom work done,id say starting price for a job like this would be at or around 2000,and up,but you can check around some,but beware of real low prices ,they may be going to use a real cheap paint on it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Okay, let's say on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best) you want a 10 paint job or at least an 8. Then be prepared to pay accordingly. The guys who'll do it cheaply will use cheap paint and'or take short cuts on the prep and you won't be happy with the results or how long the paint will last. It is basically just what you said. The color is different and the bat is the same. Companies have been doing this for years and that's just what they do....They need to change something so they can sell the newer models to us. And like you said, charge us more. USE AN ENAMEL BASED PAINT....
And try not to paint the seat if you can - otherwise it might rub off with time...Has anyone painted a Fisher Price Power Wheels truck ride-on toy? What kind of paint to use?
as long as you use a paint that has weatherproof or resistant on it, and dont get it near the parts that run it, battery, wheels (it can make it so as they wont turn easily.) and the seat, it'll rub off eventually from the constant rubbing.Can you help set up this
