Average price for a good paint job?

I have a red 2002 Pontiac Grand AM GT and I want to get it painted black but every place tells me a different price! I don't want to get ripped off but I want it to be good quality and look nice for a long time. Anyone know what price range I should be looking for??Average price for a good paint job?
im not sure where you all are from but youre all WAY TOO HIGH...They do charge alot for 1 or two parts to be painted they have to because the yahve to use alot of paint and get everything ready for one little job DUH...but if you want a professional paint job just a plain color like black...you can get it done for less than 1500 for sure....ther are people here that do it for 500$ lol.....but they dont do quite as good as others..not bad though...but still good one is under 1500Average price for a good paint job?
A complete paint job where the door jambs, engine compartment %26amp; trunk are all done so you don't see any signs of the old paint and a good quality paint with good quality work will run $4 to $5,000. You'd probably be better off trading it for one the color you want. Especially when you consider that painting the car will decrease it's value at resale since it won't match the title and the paint is never as durable as what the factory applies.
It depends what you are looking for. If you want it done right, they pull all moldings, bumpers, handles, moldings, glass, etc out to refinish the vehicle. This is the right way and will cost $3000-$5000 with minimal body work. Or you can go the cheap way and mask everything off and spray it and pay $1000-$2000 and likely not have any guarantee on the paint or labor. As the saying goes, ';good, cheap, fast - you can pick two of the three.';
Probably in the thousands. Because I wanted the hood of my car painted and it was going to cost 450 dollars just for it and nothing else. Probably 3 or 4 thousand I would guess.
2-5 grand
