I recently bought a used ford explorer and am not satisfied with the paint. It has chips, discoloration, etc. I was just curiuos what it would cost to get a new pant job for it.What is the average price for a quality paint job on mid-sized SUV, like a Ford Explorer?

You could pay $550 for an earl shieb maaco special... but it would be more of the same you are already unhappy with....





then again you could pay upwards of $2000 - $2500 and still not be happy with that either...





shop around and see what local body shops recommend, and if they have finished cars waiting for customer pickup then take a close look at what your money buys...





With some leg work, you could get a better idea...
A paint job equivalent to a factory paint job will cost you no less than $2500 and that is if the body is in perfect condition. Dents and scratches are extra.
